TITUS 2:1-15 ( PLEASE SHARE THIS LESSON

Have you taken notice how many times we, as members of the church of Christ, are told be SOBER, sober minded, in fact, 12 times in the New Testament that we are to obey we are told to BE SOBER:
Titus 2:6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
Titus 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
1 Timothy 3:11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
1 Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
Titus 1:8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
Titus 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
2 Corinthians 5:13 For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1 Thessalonians 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. GOD stresses this point over and over, be sober, be wise.
GOD also said that anyone who drinks any alcoholic wine is unwise.
We are to be WISE as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Acts 26:25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth AND soberness. 1 Timothy 2:9 and 15;
Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. SOCIAL DRINKING IS A SIN, PERIOD. DRINKING ANY AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL (wine, or stronger) is a SIN. GOD does not contradict Himself my dear friends.
We are to be WISE and wine makes one UNWISE, the conclusion is crystal clear. DO NOT DRINK WINE (alcohol).
Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore WISE as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Paul writes these words to Titus just as he had warned Timothy.
The “wine” for Timothy’s stomach was NOT alcoholic, it was grape juice which even today helps because of the antioxidants found in it. Please stop trying to justify drinking socially by using brother Timothy as an example to drink. It is ridiculous because EVEN IF and it was not, it contain alcohol it was medicinal alcohol, meaning a teaspoon or tablespoon not a full glass of intoxicating wine.
(Pure Non-Alcoholic Red Grape juice can put oxygen into your blood and can make you feel much more alert.)
Let’s look at this closely again: All human beings are addressed here in this chapter, this letter Paul wrote by inspiration.
AGED MEN: But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be SOBER, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
AGED WOMEN: The aged women likewise, (aged women are to be SOBER, gave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience just like aged men, that is what likewise means) that they be in behaviour as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given TO (this does not say TOO) much wine, teachers of good things;
YOUNGER WOMEN: That they may teach the young women to be SOBER, to love their husbands, to love their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
YOUNGER MEN: Young men likewise exhort to be SOBER minded.
In ALL things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
YES, EVEN SERVANTS: Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in ALL things; not answering again; Not purloining (which means stealing) but showing all good fidelity; (faithful, loyal and trustworthy) that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in ALL things.
NOW READ WHY WE ARE TO BE SOBER AT ALL TIMES:
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, DENYING ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live Soberly, Righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; (folks we must be sober at all times for we have no idea when that glorious appearing of our LORD and Saviour will be, we must be ready, SOBER and ready at all times). DO YOU SEE WHY GOD FORBIDS WINE NOW?
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from ALL iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. THESE THINGS SPEAK, AND EXHORT (encourage and urge), and REBUKE (correct those that are not sober) WITH ALL AUTHORITY. LET NO MAN DESPISE YOU. This is GOD’s word, do not let man despise you for speaking and teaching the truth about alcohol. How can it be any clearer that this that social drinking is a sin, drinking any alcohol will DULL YOUR THINKING.
Do you want to be dull of hearing the word of GOD?
Dull means to be slow in understanding, seriously the word used in bible dictionary is “stupid”. Some had their ears dull of hearing.
When the truth is told, believe it. Do not turn a blind eye to sin.
READ what Paul wrote back in Acts 28:27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are DULL of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

YES, this is a salvation issue and it must not be ignored.
BROTHERS preach this lesson please. Social Drinking is a sin, any drinking is a sin for it DULLS THE BRAIN. One drink is One drink drunk. And no it should be quite obvious given the way GOD talks about alcoholic wine that Christ did NOT turn water into alcoholic wine, He turned it into NEW WINE, the best fresh grape juice.
I have stated what GOD says about this. I am not here to argue but I will be happy to explain further if anyone is interested or just needs more material to teach others the sins of alcoholic beverages.
