When it comes to appeals asking our small congregation for financial support, we can only help a small number with our limited funds as this is the Lord’s money and we need to be wise due to the fact there are many dishonest scammers in the world today seeking to take advantage.
Our first priority is to reach out into our local community with the gospel message. We have a catchment area of nearly half a million lost souls to reach and it’s important that we concentrate on reaching out to find good honest souls who want to obey the gospel.
Our second priority is to help those who we know and trust that need our financial support due to their circumstances. These are brethren we have met face to face.
Then if we are fortunate enough to have any funds leftover in our church account then when it comes to helping others who we do not know, we ask them who else have they approached and how many have responded to their appeal. We then ask them who are these people who have helped them so far so that we can check up on them to confirm they have helped in giving them support.
We then ask them to send us a church headed letterhead by email from their congregation which needs to have their preacher’s name and contact details on it, and in addition to this we need 2 other members’ names with their email addresses and contact numbers before we can even consider them.
Finally, if we are in a position to help, we will require the bank details of the congregation in order to transfer funds. Please note we do not accept appeals from any denominations. We are only interested in helping genuine members of the church.
