We learn how to be more like Jesus Our Lord and Master.
Yes we learn how to walk in newness of life after we have been added to the Body of Christ through being buried in the waters of baptism and raised up from the watery grave. We learn how to remain steadfast to the Lord being faithful and keeping His Word. We learn patience, kindness, and goodness. We love God and our fellow man, we find joy and peace and we do our best to promote these attributes now that we our members of His body.
We quit from doing the things we once did when we were living in sin such as lusts of the flesh, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with it’s passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-25
We continue to study His Word and do our best to apply it to our lives, but let’s remind ourselves we are not perfect because it was due to our sins that Christ died for us and there may be times even after we have been added to His Body and become children of God that we sin and do things we ought not do, but we are fortunate to be able to go to Him in prayer and ask for His forgiveness as we confess our sins to Him and that’s all because as His children who have obeyed from the heart, we are able to access His kindness towards us, What a blessing it is to be in Christ. We are to become more like Jesus Our Lord as we draw nearer to the time and do our best in both word and deed. We our to preach and teach to all the world, baptizing those who believe, repent and confess Jesus as Lord into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all things that Jesus has commanded us for He is with us to the end of the age.
