God has given us so much, we should be glad to give back to Him our time and a portion of what He has blessed us with.
So, on the First Day of the week we are to take up a collection as we read in 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 “Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.

If Paul the Apostle was with us today, he would say to us who are members of the Ramsey church of Christ, “Now concerning the collection for the saints, meaning us, as I have given orders to the churches in the UK you must do also:” However, we must give as we have been prospered not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work.” as we read 2 Corinthians 9:6-15.
With this in mind we are to do good unto all men especially those who belong to Christ Our Lord.
Jesus said in Matthew 25:31-46 that we should help those in need, those who were hungry and thirsty, without clothing and without somewhere to shelter, because when we give to the sick and those in prison, we in effect are giving to the Lord Jesus Our Saviour… so it’s not all about putting money in the collection and thinking that’s all you need to do… we must help those in need.
Think about the widow who gave everything she had. Then think about what you have given back to the Lord.
